Nickie Wingrove, GRSM Dip RCM graduated from the Royal College of Music, London in 1986. During her time there she studied Bassoon, Contrabassoon, Piano, Composition and Conducting. She was a member of the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra on Contrabassoon. As a freelance musician in London she has performed with various orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra, English Sinfonia and BBC.
Nickie taught in a post primary level school in Bexley, London for 12 years teaching GCSE and A level music. She then became Head of Music and Year Head at Hurstmere school. In 2003 she moved to Ireland and set up her own thriving teaching practice. She plays regularly with Sligo Baroque Orchestra and Sligo Orpheus Choir.
