Con Schmaucks grew up in Dublin and studied under Des Lacy, one of Ireland’s finest teachers and drummers. He also studied at Pulse College, graduating with a diploma in sound engineering.
In 2013, Con graduated with an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance from the Berklee associated Newpark Music Centre under Conor Guilfoyle and Kevin Brady. Along with teaching at the Sligo School of Contemporary Music, Con holds the junior orchestra percussion chair at the Sligo Academy of Music and is an integral member of the Sligo Academy’s Jazz Orchestra. He is also the Musical Director of the Academy’s Young Jazz All Stars.
Con is a long-term member of the popular Curlybobs wedding band and a founding member of The Kobe Trio.
